In response to requests by the people of Weld County, I introduced HCR1002, a resolution to provide reasonable time limits on the Governor's emergency powers. HCR1002 ensures that an emergency declaration automatically terminates in 30 days unless extended by the general assembly by a two-thirds vote.

The elected representative body makes laws, not the executive branch. It's time to return to the constitutional role of government.
